We are recruiting for a Site Engineer to join us here at Octavius.

We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.

 

You'll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)

You'll play a key role in delivering a portfolio of roads and infrastructure improvement projects across Dorset and Hampshire for local authority clients.

As part of our site engineering team, you'll be responsible for providing accurate setting out and survey information to support efficient, safe, and high-quality delivery on site. You'll work closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, and wider delivery teams to ensure that works are constructed in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.

You'll:

  • Provide precise setting out and engineering information to enable construction activities.
  • Carry out quality assurance checks to ensure works are delivered right first time.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications and communicate these clearly to site teams.
  • Monitor works on site to ensure alignment with design, levels, and tolerances.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to maintain a high standard of performance and safety.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative site culture where safety and quality are at the core of everything we do.

You'll bring… (your wealth of experience & qualifications)

  • Experience working as a Site Engineer on highways, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects.
  • A solid understanding of setting out for disciplines such as groundworks, drainage, structures, or highways.
  • Experience working within a civils environment.
  • Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and QA processes.
  • Proficiency using surveying equipment and CAD tools.
  • A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (HND, NVQ, Degree or equivalent experience).
  • Appropriate site certifications (e.g. CSCS card).
