Senior Quantity Surveyor – Rail (SRE framework - E&P)
Octavius Infrastructure is proud to be part of the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE), a £9bn, 10-year programme (2024–2034) transforming how rail renewals are delivered across Network Rail's Southern region.
As one of a small number of Project 13 enterprise agreements, SRE represents a step change in how the industry collaborates — offering a rare opportunity to be part of a truly integrated, long-term programme focused on performance, efficiency and better outcomes.
We are expanding our commercial team and are looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors to support our Electrification & Plant (E&P) delivery, working across both our feeders and distribution portfolios.
These roles sit within separate delivery areas, supporting either a higher-value feeders programme (~£50m per year) or a high-volume distribution portfolio (~£35m per year) delivered at pace across multiple sites.
You'll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support the robust commercial management of projects within either our feeders or distribution workstreams, depending on your placement.
Across both areas, you'll play a key role in ensuring strong commercial performance, supporting delivery teams to successfully manage cost, risk and contractual obligations in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the commercial performance of multiple projects or packages, maintaining visibility of cost, value and risk
- Support cost control, forecasting and reporting, including CVR, applications and final accounts
- Ensure contracts are administered effectively, with a strong focus on NEC compliance and governance
- Work closely with delivery teams to identify risks and opportunities and drive commercial outcomes
- Engage with supply chain partners, supporting procurement and ensuring effective cost management
- Contribute to monthly reporting and commercial reviews, providing clear and accurate insights
- Build strong working relationships across the project teams, clients and wider enterprise partners
Depending on the package, you'll either:
- Support delivery of complex, higher-value feeder projects, or
- Operate within a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment, managing multiple live work fronts
You'll receive…
We offer a competitive rewards package, including:
- Company Car scheme
- Private Healthcare
- Pension and Life Assurance
- 25 days Annual Leave + your birthday off
- Hybrid working (typically London / site c.3 days per week)
- Enhanced family leave policies
- Ongoing professional development and progression opportunities
About you…
-
Experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level across multiple projects or packages
-
Strong people and stakeholder skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
-
The ability to manage competing priorities and maintain commercial oversight
-
Solid knowledge of contract administration, cost control and commercial reporting, with NEC experience
-
A proactive approach to managing risk, performance and outcomes
If you're looking for a role where you can develop your experience within a major rail programme and be part of a collaborative, long-term delivery model, we'd love to hear from you.
