You'll also spend time on‑site when it matters most building relationships with delivery teams and stakeholders, and truly shaping the quality of the solutions we offer.
You can base yourself at any of our framework offices — Manchester, Birmingham, Stratford, Blackfriars, Swindon or Head Office in Reigate, with the majority of your week spent working from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing accurate cost estimates for Network Rail schemes including AFA, new stations, Power Supply upgrades and E&P Renewals.
- Building detailed estimates from first principles, ensuring reliability and confidence in cost breakdowns.Working collaboratively with project managers, engineers and other key stakeholders to gather insight and develop well‑informed pricing strategies.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documents to prepare time, cost, materials and labour calculations.
- Contributing to tenders and bid submissions, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with client requirements.
- Monitoring project costs and highlighting risks, opportunities and value‑engineering options.
- Keeping up to date with industry standards, best practice and contractual requirements (including NEC and ICE conditions).
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in pricing infrastructure projects on Network Rail infrastructure.
- Strong background in civil engineering, or construction management, in a rail environment.
- Extensive experience working with a tier 1 or 2 contractor.
- Strong knowledge of NEC or ICE contract conditions and programme management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
- High adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Able to work autonomously and comfortable with remote or hybrid working.
