Regional Director - North
Make a meaningful impact on the UK's infrastructure
We're looking for a Regional Director to lead our Highways business across the North East and North West at Octavius. This is a senior role with real scope, an opportunity to shape how major infrastructure is delivered, while building strong teams and trusted customer relationships.
At Octavius, we focus on delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions that keep communities connected. As Regional Director, you'll play a central role in driving that work forward—setting direction, ensuring high standards, and making sure we deliver on our commitments.
What you'll be doing
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of major highways projects, leading delivery from early stages through to completion. That means balancing programme, budget, and quality—while keeping safety, sustainability, and innovation firmly in focus.
Alongside delivery, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring we're a reliable and forward-thinking partner. Internally, you'll lead and develop high-performing teams, creating an environment where people are clear on expectations and supported to do their best work.
Who you'll work with
You'll collaborate with experienced leaders, engineers, and commercial specialists across the business, working within established frameworks with customers including National Highways and local authorities. The role offers influence at both strategic and operational levels, with the chance to contribute to how infrastructure is planned and delivered more broadly.
What you'll receive
We offer a competitive and well-rounded package that reflects the level of responsibility in the role, including:
- Company car scheme
- Private healthcare
- Pension and life assurance
- 25 days' annual leave, plus your birthday off
- Hybrid working where possible
- Ongoing professional and leadership development
About you
You're an experienced leader in highways or infrastructure delivery, comfortable managing complex programmes and aligning day-to-day delivery with longer-term strategy. You bring a balanced approach—commercially aware, collaborative in style, and consistent in your focus on safety and quality.
You'll likely have:
- A strong track record delivering large-scale highways or infrastructure projects
- Experience managing financial performance, risk, and operational delivery
- The ability to build and sustain customer relationships at framework level
- A leadership style that develops and motivates capable, accountable teams
- Degree-level education (or equivalent), with relevant professional qualifications (APM, PRINCE2, IOSH/NEBOSH desirable)
