At Octavius Infrastructure, we're looking for a proactive and motivated Project Assistant to join our South East team, supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across East and West Sussex.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, eager to learn and keen to develop within the construction industry. No previous construction experience is required. We'll provide the training, support and development needed to help you build a successful career with us.
The role is based on live project sites and will involve regular travel to support multiple projects across the region, including the Barnham Roundabout Scheme, Bus Stop Improvement Scheme and Cycleway Scheme. The successful candidate will be provided with a company van for business use.

You'll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)
As a Project Assistant, you'll support our project teams in both site and office environments, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and maintaining project documentation and site records.
- Supporting project quality and assurance processes.
- Assisting with inspections, quality records and project handover information.
- Preparing information for meetings and maintaining action trackers.
- Supporting the Project Manager, Site Manager and wider project team with administrative and coordination activities.
- Learning how infrastructure projects are planned, managed and delivered.
- Working across multiple project sites to gain practical experience and industry knowledge.
- Attending training courses, site inductions and development activities.
- Ensuring project documentation remains accurate, organised and up to date.
- Supporting compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
Initially, you'll be supporting projects including the Barnham Roundabout Scheme, Bus Stop Improvement Scheme and Cycleway Scheme, giving you valuable experience across a range of infrastructure disciplines.

You'll collaborate with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Quality Leads and other construction professionals who will help develop your skills and knowledge.
You'll also build relationships with clients, suppliers and local communities while gaining an understanding of how major infrastructure projects are successfully delivered.

We are looking for someone with the right attitude, willingness to learn and desire to build a long-term career within construction and infrastructure.

- A school, college or sixth form leaver looking to begin your career.
- Working in an administrative, customer service or office-based role and looking for a new challenge.
- Interested in construction, engineering, infrastructure or project delivery.

Most importantly, you'll be proactive, organised and motivated to learn.

- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
- A genuine interest in construction and infrastructure.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, enthusiastic and proactive approach.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- A willingness to learn new skills and undertake training.
- A full UK driving licence held for a minimum of two years.
- The ability to travel regularly across East and West Sussex.
Desirable but not essential:
- Previous experience in an administrative, customer service or office environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook or Teams.
- An A-Level, BTEC or equivalent qualification.
- Previous exposure to construction or engineering environments.
