We're seeking an ambitious Estimator to join our dynamic team, working on our exciting portfolio of projects across the country. You'll play a key role in pricing transformative rail schemes, helping deliver innovative solutions nationwide.

You'll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)

• Produce and manage analytical lump sum cost estimates, target costs, and high-level cost estimates for major rail infrastructure projects.
• Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates, ensuring robust commercial submissions based on contractual terms, site conditions, project constraints, and customer requirements.
• Develop order of magnitude budgets, cost plans, and design-to-cost budgets.
• Analyse method-related costs and temporary works in consultation with project teams.
• Compile project preliminaries, tender summaries, and costed risk registers using estimating software and sound financial judgment.
• Present tender commercial strategy proposals at adjudication meetings, explaining commercial, technical, and risk management rationale.
• Hand over successful bids to project teams and actively seek feedback for continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and suppliers.
• Involved in Cost intelligence data collection and reports

You'll bring… (your wealth of experience & qualifications)

• Proven experience estimating rates from first principles for large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Method of Measurement and preparing Bills of Quantities.
• Sound knowledge of construction techniques, technologies, and their impact on outputs and costs.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering resources, risk management procedures, and project constraints.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive approach to business improvement and feedback.
• Competent use of estimating software and good IT skills.
• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification/relevant experience.
