Octavius Infrastructure are proud to be part of the Southern Renewals Enterprise, delivering Electrification and Plant (E&P) renewals across the Southern region. We are looking for a motivated Project Manager to join our team and help deliver projects that make a real difference to rail infrastructure.

You'll be working on projects across Kent, Sussex, and Wessex, supporting the development of design solutions through to successful delivery on site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

 

You'll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)

  • Manage a small portfolio of projects, typically valued between £2–£10m, ensuring delivery meets quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
  • Assist in developing project plans, including scope, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress throughout the lifecycle.
  • Work closely with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to maintain strong communication and collaboration.
  • Identify risks early and support mitigation plans to keep projects on track.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide clear progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Support cost control and budget monitoring to ensure financial targets are met.

 

About you…. (what you are skilled at)

  • Experience in project management within construction, rail, or infrastructure environments.
  • Understanding of project management principles and willingness to develop further skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and frameworks is desirable.

 

You'll bring… (your wealth of experience & qualifications)

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrification systems, power distribution, and related infrastructure, including familiarity with electrical codes and standards. 
  • Experience working in 11kv or 33kv substations.
  • Proven experience in a Contractors Responsible Engineer, or Project Management role, especially in overseeing electrification projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and lead project teams effectively.
  • The ability to build and maintain positive client relationships, including presenting project updates and addressing client concerns.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of projects with values of £2-£10m +.
