We are recruiting for a Digital Solutions Manager to join us here at Octavius.

Reporting directly to the Technology Director, this is an excellent opportunity to shape how digital change happens across our growing civil engineering business. We're investing heavily in our technology and systems to deliver safe, sustainable and efficient transport solutions throughout the UK and this role will play a central part in making that transformation happen.

You'll play a key role in helping us update and improve the digital tools and processes that support our people and projects.
The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with your main office base being one of our locations (including London, Reigate, Coventry, Winchester, or Hatfield). You can work mostly from home, with occasional travel to offices or project sites, or there's flexibility for you to spend more time in the office if that suits your working style — we don't mandate set office days, and we trust you to work where you do your best work.

          You'll be working on…

          • You'll lead technology change projects from first idea to full implementation — taking vague concepts and turning them into well‑defined, high‑impact digital solutions.

          • You'll shape how projects are set up, ensuring each initiative is clearly scoped, properly planned, and aligned to what the business genuinely needs.

          • Your work will help drive innovation, boost efficiency, and support the development of modern digital tools and processes across the organisation.

          • You'll bring clarity, structure and fresh thinking to our technology change portfolio, making a real and visible difference to how we work today and how we grow for the future.

          You'll work with…

A wide range of colleagues in a matrix environment where partnership and clear communication matter. You'll build trusted relationships across business teams, IT specialists, system superusers and external technology partners to deliver change smoothly and successfully.

          You'll receive…

An attractive rewards package, including a Company Car scheme, Private Healthcare, Pension, Life Assurance, 25 days Annual Leave (plus a birthday day off). You'll also have access to Hybrid working where possible, enhanced Paternity & Maternity benefits and chances to grow both personally and professionally.

          About you…

          • You build strong, positive relationships, create trust easily and contribute to a collaborative, supportive and inclusive working environment.
          • You communicate clearly and confidently, making complex ideas easy for others to understand.
          • You're curious and open‑minded — someone who asks questions, explores options and enjoys solving problems.
          • You're confident in constructively challenging assumptions and helping teams make sound, informed decisions.
          • You're comfortable navigating ambiguity and bringing structure, clarity and direction when it's needed.
          • You stay calm under pressure, balancing persistence with pragmatism to keep momentum without losing people along the way.
          • You've worked in well‑established organisations and seen how digital change works at its best, and you're motivated to bring that insight to help us grow.

          You'll bring…

          • Knowledge of construction industry processes and challenges, along with familiarity with construction‑specific systems such as project management tools, ERP platforms or BIM.
          • A strong track record of leading digital or technology change initiatives end‑to‑end, covering scoping, requirements, planning, delivery and implementation.
          • The ability to translate business needs into clear, practical technical requirements, supported by solid analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
          • Experience working in a matrix environment, coordinating cross‑functional teams, engaging diverse stakeholders and partnering with external vendors.
          • Practical experience with testing, UAT, documentation and ensuring smooth handovers into ongoing support.
          • Relevant qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP or Agile certifications, and ideally a degree in Information Systems, IT, Business, Construction or equivalent experience.

If this sounds like the kind of role where you can make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help shape the future of digital change at Octavius.
